Coppicing trees near the River Cole
On our daily walk along the River Cole today, we came across Ranger Jan Tomlinson with a group of volunteers doing some sterling work in the John Morris Jones walkway. They were clearing broken fences and coppicing trees. The other day on our travels, a couple we met on our walk kindly pointed out a white heron in a tree over the river by the bridge at Brook Lane. I always think of it as a magical spot for wildlife ever since I looked down and saw a fox wading through the river there.
